From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, demons, and sinister influences expanding in influence within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the developments of episode 3 show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing started the story’s plot—exploited the foes for his personal gain, entering the secret base, striking the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his obligations and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could help the party enter areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This results in them few options but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
