Large-scale Russian Assaults Eliminate Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while local people in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to water supplies, per reports from local authorities.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, according to local officials.

Moscow has intensified attacks on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and applying restrictions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people hurt in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, according to municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the urban area came under heavy assaults throughout the evening. A minor died and multiple civilians were injured.

The attacks follow periods of aerial attacks in the area, sections of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to detect.

Authorities told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
